Copper Hills par-4 honored

OXFORD – Copper Hills Golf & Country Club has always been a beast of a 27-hole course, with one of the highest slope ratings in all of Michigan from the tips of any its three 18-hole combinations.

One hole stands out as the toughest. The ninth hole on the Hill course, a 453-yard par-4, was named as one of three Eastern U.S. region par-4s ìMost Beautifully Brutal Golf Holesî in North America by a panel of experts for John Deere Credit.

The regional winners were chosen from par 4 entries throughout the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec) by a panel of judges that includes Jeff Babineau, editor of Golfweek; Pat Roberts, publisher of Golfdom; Joe Passov, architecture editor for Golf magazine; and Gary Van Sickle, golf editor for Sports Illustrated. The judges rated the holes based upon their difficulty as well as their beauty.

The 18-hole winners, consisting of a traditional layout of 10 par-4s, four par-5s and par-3s, will be featured in a calendar. For more visit, www.JohnDeereCredit.com/brutalgolfholes.
