Hebert

ACME – Scott Hebert has done it again.

Although his PGA Championship showing wasn’t as successful as he would have liked, Hebert, the head pro at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Acme, teamed with Dick Ayling, Ron Peterson and Jerry Stanek to win the Michigan Section Team Championship at Eagle Eye Golf Club Aug. 18. Their 13-under-total earned a berth in The 2008 PGA McGladrey National Team Championship.

The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa team won by a 1- stroke margin and will compete among a 41-team field Oct. 20-22 in the National Championship at Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort. There were twenty-five teams in the Michigan Section Team Championship field.

Conducted by The PGA of America, The PGA McGladrey Team Championship is the first grass-roots amateur best-ball championship managed by The PGA of America.
